who's running this show, anyway?

Studio 42 Design is John VonMutius. I recently graduated from Florida State University where I studied both traditional art and digital media, as well as art history. My extensive knowlege of where art has been situates me in a unique position among the many artists and designers currently deciding where art will go in the future. It also enhances my understanding of symbolism, intent and communication through visual media. As an active student, I have a fresh point of view and an innovative approach to design. I also have the professional expertise to execute my ideas.

For the past six years, I have worked as a contracted designer for the internal design department of Wyndham Vacation Ownership, currently the largest timeshare company in the world. From designing logos and brochures to laying out magazine spreads to editing and creating motion graphics, my experiences in the corporate world have taught me how to work reliably on a budget, how to meet a deadline and how to collaborate with a team. Prior to that I worked in a small, family-owned print shop, gaining valuable knowledge about the print production process.

I love solving problems and overcoming challenges in unexpected ways. I consider myself a critical thinker first and a designer second. For a full display of my capabilities, check out my portfolio.
